Reports indicate that fan-favorite stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.

A Major Return to Panem

Lawrence and Hutcherson will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Industry whispers indicate their cameos will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, as the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.

This signifies the sixth cinematic outing in the global Hunger Games franchise.

Delving Into the Prequel

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind the majority of the previous films in the series.

The film's story are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.

The supporting roles feature several notable actors in important characters:

• Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
• Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the calculating President Snow.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence stars in the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson is part of the hit horror film Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
