Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the team after the uproar from his recent interview.

The Incident

He was omitted from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Team Form

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and starting to win games.”
