The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches other platforms. They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Updates Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated. Manual Updates Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
